FOR SALE: # 816

1966 SHELBY GT-350H Tribute (Clone)

Details: 1966 SHELBY GT-350H Tribute. This car started off as a totally rust free So. California 65 "A" code Fastback. It is a real Fastback (not a converted coupe). Now it is a 66 Shelby GT-350 Hertz clone with some upgrades that make it look better such as the front racing apron and the GT rear valance. It has never been wrecked and never had any rust repairs done! There is no body filler and before the new paint job was done this car had a very straight and solid body. Since black painted cars show any imperfections, this car was block sanded many times and had the body gaps set right. Since the paint and restoration work was done this car has been driven around the block a few times and has less than 15 miles on it. It is not a 100% freshly restored car, since many of the used parts were in very good usable condition. This is a daily driver. The black paint job is a single stage period correct nice driver quality that was just done a few months ago. This car will definitely turn heads any where it is driven. The original style gold Hertz side stripe kit was installed along with the painted over the top stripes just like the originals. This Fastback Hertz tribute runs and drives well and has a nice throaty sound..
C4 Automatic Trans. (used) works well, Power Steering, Headers & Dual Exhaust all the way to the rear GT Valance, Reproduction Shelby Fibreglass: Hood (w/functional scoop); Frt. R model Racing Apron; Side Scoops (with functional larger than stock air duct hoses to help cool the rear brakes); Reproduction 1966 Plexiglass Side quarter windows (I can re-install the stock vents and trade for the Shelby windows for no extra charge, if you prefer). I have a used original 65-66 Mustang Air Cond. set up that is mostly complete that I will include (not installed) with this car if you wish. Rebuilt Front Disc Brakes and rebuilt drum rear brakes. The glass is in good average condition (a few scratches here and there). 1 1/8" dia. front sway bar. All of the electrical works fine and the car just had a complete electrical check out from a excellent local auto electrical shop. There is no radio installed....it has a radio delete plate....the original radio hole is uncut, but not 100% perfect (a little buggered up)...I have a used original radio that I will give you if you need one (un-installed). If you prefer having a 66 style instrument cluster and 66 dash pad, I can install & hookup new reproduction pieces for a small extra charge. A used pair of Shelby style racing seat belts are also included (not shown in pics). NOTE: when I shot some of the pics, the door and trunk lid were not completely closed, so it makes the gap and alignment look like it is off...all the gaps are very good.
MILEAGE: the odometer shows 50,282 miles and since there are only 5 digits, the true actual mileage is unknown. The numbers are very straight (see pic) and usually when they have been around the block (over 100k) the numbers are not in alignment. The last owner kept it in his garage and never drove it, since it was partially disassembled, so there is a very good chance that this mileage is original..????? UNDERSIDE OF CAR: The bottom of the car (floorpans, suspension parts, etc.) are not painted or detailed except for the areas around the front disc brakes that were recently cleaned and painted. The floorpans are all orginal. On the passenger side floorpan, years ago someone jacked up the car and dented it...I had the choice of cutting out this piece and welding in a reproduction piece or fixing the original part...since it was rust free and all original underneath, the decision was made to straighten out the original metal and weld it in a few places (I have close up pics of this area).
HERE IS A LIST OF BRAND NEW PARTS THAT HAVE JUST BEEN INSTALLED:  Front seat upholstery..... Carpet...... Dashpad...... Dual Bullet side mirrors (cost $280 pr.).........Styled Steel 15 x 7" and 15 x 8" wheels and center caps....... Alum. Radiator......Grill......Gas Tank & Fuel Sender Unit......Rear Bumper...... Master Cylinder...... Monte Carlo Bar....... Tail Lts. and Bezels......GT Rear Valance....... Rear Exh. Trumpets & Bezels........Exh. pipe from headers to rear....... Reverse and Parking lights......Outer door handles.......Window & door rubbers.......Shelby Gas cap........Shelby Horn Center.......Brake & Gas Lines....... Headliner....... Roof & Floor insulation.......Fuel Pump......Door sill plates....... Instrument cluster....... Door panels..... Arm Rests & Bases...... Ign. switch...... Petronix Electronic Ignition......(2) large P/S Hoses...... Frt. & Rear shocks.......Water pump......Alternator...... Starter........ Regulator...... Solenoid...... Heater core and hoses...... Clear California regular title with no liens against it. ENGINE: 1968 302W used. Runs fine. Edelbrock Performer Alum. 4v intake with 600cfm rebuilt Holley carb; COBRA alum. valve covers; COBRA air cleaner assy.;  At the recent Barrett Jackson Auction (June 2011) in Orange County, Ca. an original 1966 Shelby GT-350 Hertz car was sold for $181k!!!
Sorry, no trades and I don't need a Harley.  This car (like all used cars from private parties) is sold in "AS IS" condition with no warranties expressed or implied. If you want to fly in and check it out yourself, I will pick you up and return you to any airport in the Los Angeles/Orange County area if you wish.
