Price: US$7,500. Listed: 13 Feb 2011 Sold: April 2011 FOR SALE: # 802 1965 Fastback (Withdrawn)
Details:
1965 Fastback, black with Bronze GT strips. Ex
California car and built in the San Jose plant. Original car colour is
phantom black. This car has been modelled off the 66 Hertz racer GT350H.
Imported into NZ in 2006 it was fully restored (photos available) by a well
known car restorer in Foxton (contact available). Bare metal respray and
nearly every part on this car is NEW. New interior, new wiring, new
suspensions etc. The engine is a 302 crate motor that came with the car from
the US. It has a C4 transmission with speed shift kit. The engine is a high
compression motor with a high performance cam shaft. The speedo shows 54k
miles and when imported in 2006 the speedo showed 44k miles. Additional
features are the fitted disc brakes on the front, side exhausts, American
racing 16" wheels, the Shelby dash pod that houses the speedo and oil
pressure gauge and the Shelby rear quarter-light windows. It is also fitted
with three point front seat belts. This car is an amazing example and goes
extremely well.
The car was a impulse buy and while I absolutely love it, it does not get the love it deserves. I have a small growing family and it is not a family focused car in my perspective. While I love the look and the character of the vehicle I am a bit of a "new boy" and would prefer the mod cons of modern motoring. I am the 4th owner in NZ, the person who built it and two others. One person only owned it for a number of months and had to make a quick sale. The person I purchased it off owned it for three years. The car has spent most of its time on Wellington until I brought it to Christchurch. The attached photos were taken on the 27th February so you can see there is no earthquake damage. The car is rust free and has a couple of very small cracks in the paint at the top of the A pillar. (have been told at the factory seams). This car was driven regularly by the previous owner but hardly by me, hence another reason for the sale. Price: NZ Listed: 27 Feb 2011 Withdrawn: 13 May 2011 FOR SALE: # 803 1968 Coupe. (Sold)

example of this popular model. Has had extensive work done on it. All

Body very straight . Relatively new Cragar mags. 4 speed top loader . Twin
plate clutch. Wood grain mustang steering wheel. Has had a lot of parts
replaced with new mustang parts. Paint work very good. Mechanically sound
and a good runner. New WOF. Mechanic was very impressed by the
condition the mustang was in and he had a good look underneath and thought
it was a great example of a car of its age.
Price: NZ$24,995 ono Listed: 27 Feb 2011 Sold: June 2011 FOR SALE: # 804 1965 Coupe (Withdrawn)
Details:
1965 coupe. 289 engine. C4 transmission. White with
red interior. This is a lovely car, not show condition but when I picked it
up a couple of years ago it had just gone through vinning and has a very
straight dry body. An ideal car for someone that wants to build it as his or
her own, as it is close too original and un-molested. Engine runs well but
had a blown head gasket when I got it, since been replaced and with new
heads, but as engine is original it needs a rebuild. Has Hooker long
headers. Partial rebuilt front suspension from last owner and I have a rebuilt
rear end.
Interior is in great condition with new header and carpets. Seats are
original with only one small split in the stitching. Rego is on hold and
warrant has lapsed (as was going to have off road awhile for engine rebuild),
but will have rego and warrant when sold. Am sorry to see this car go as it
was going to come with me to Christchurch when I moved but for recent events
this is no longer possible as funds are needed elsewhere.
