Your Club News on the Net:
Do you want it?

Would you like to see more of your Mustang club events or other club news listed on the net, so that other Mustang enthusiasts from around NZ (and overseas) can share your enjoyment?

Existing Club Magazines...

Currently each of the NZ clubs has a newsletter that is posted out to all of its members from time to time, and this rounds up all the club events and news.

The big advantages of the club newsletter is that -

1. Everyone gets it.
2. Everyone can read it.
3. Everything can go in it.
4. They collectively build up a history of the club.

The main disadvantages are;

1. It sometimes takes quite a while for the mag to be produced (by which time events etc are past history).
2. It costs $ to print and distribute.
3 It cannot be updated or amended when the details of planned events change.
4. Its is hard to distribute effectively outside of the club.

(Note: Although some of the clubs post copies of their paper newsletters out to the other clubs, very few other club members seem to actually get to see and read these.)

Club activity on line...

The Manawatu Mustang Club has been placing a simple range of basic club information on its web pages for 6 years. This does not replace the club magazine..it is an extra to it. This includes -

A list of coming events, and
A list of reports and photos from recent events.

The list of events is progressively tuned and adjusted as the year goes along. The secretary emails updates to the webmaster who implements the changes. Important changes are emailed out to everyone as well as a reminder a week before each actual event.

Notes:

1.Listing the club events on-line has not produced any problems with members of the public turning up uninvited to club events.
2. The club magazine has not been effected and continues as normal.

The list of event photos and event reports, is complied by various club members, and photos are collected from whoever was there and took them. The report and photos are emailed to the webmaster who loads them onto the site. Often as not, reports and photos of events are subsequently reprinted in the club mag where all members (incl those without a computer) can read them.

The MMOC pages can be viewed at any time by going to the Manawatu Club pages , or by using the following direct link Manawatu coming events list.

The Waikato and BOP clubs also have some online events

Want to give it a go with your club?

If you like the concept, and think that your club would like to add events to its web pages, then NZMustang.com would be happy to oblige. All you need is someone from your club to send in the info from time to time. Its that easy!
