AUCKLAND JULY 2005 Newsletter Hi There Mustangers This is our first newsletter to all Mustang Club members throughout New Zealand. It is the intention of the Auckland Club to keep you up to date with a number of the exciting activities that we have arranged for you and your family at this years, 2005 Mustang Convention being held here in Auckland. So keep those registration forms rolling in and don’t forget to get your accommodation booked early. AMOC has been very fortunate to negotiate the naming rights package with Perry Scarfe, Managing Director of Tyres 4 U Ltd, New Zealand importers of GT Radials. The GT RADIALS 2005 Mustang Convention. As a highlight of this package, Perry has arranged for legendry Australian motor racing driver Allan Moffat to be our guest at the convention. He will be at the car show on Saturday and as keynote speaker at Sunday evenings awards ceremony. I am sure that quite a number of you will be delighted to press the flesh with Allan, gain his signature as a souvenir and listen to a number of his racing stories particularly in the COKE Mustang. Saturdays Car Show — Trade Stands It is our intention to have a large number of trade related stands supporting the car show eg; Air brushing demos, Correct car polishing techniques, Mustang parts, Speed equipment, Clothing, Car care products, Restoration products, Mag wheels & tyres and lots of other interesting goodies to spend your money on. Sunday Night Awards Presentation Evening The convention committee are delighted to announce that we have secured NZ’s top Rock n Roll band for the night: Tom Sharplin and the Cadillac's. Be rest assured this is going to be one hell of a night, so bring your rock n roll shoes and be prepared to rock the night away. I am sure by the end of the evening Tom’s band will be re-named the “Mustangs”. SPONSORS Those of you who have been on previous organizing committees will understand how difficult arranging funding for a convention is, so we ask all Mustangers to support all of our sponsors where ever possible. There are plenty of plugs around the walls. We are rewarding the best cars and the best displays. STOP PRESS. 75 rooms have been secured for the convention, 45 are now booked.
