AUCKLAND Newsletter # 3: September 2005 The AMOC Convention committee is looking forward to hosting everyone here in Auckland over Labour Weekend and we promise a very well planned and enjoyable Convention. Don’t forget to bring your Wild West costumes for Sunday night’s party with Tom Sharplin and other quests. See you soon. ATTENDANCE. As at Monday 19th September we have 160 people & 102 cars registered. In terms of accommodation, we only have 12 rooms left for Friday night but there are plenty of rooms for Saturday & Sunday nights. Registration closes within the next 2 weeks, so we recommend that you get your registrations in now. Needing registration forms -- these are available on www.nzmustang.com or contact your Club President. The Waipuna Hotel & Convention Centre has confirmed that 69 rooms have been booked to date. Waikato 10 cars WINDOW CARD. AMOC have now arranged for a photographer to take photographs of all the convention participant’s vehicles as you approach the car show venue for your window cards. Please bring your own photo if you have a real beauty for your card. Set up time for the show is as from 7.00 am. Show opens to the public at 10.00 am. APPAREL. 2005 Convention apparel has been fine tuned down to a Polo Shirt and a Baseball style cap. Both items are very high quality garments with the specifically designed 2005 Convention logo being featured. Polo’s are well priced at $35.00 and the caps will be $20.00 each. Plenty of stock has been ordered. ALLAN MOFFAT Allan will be our guest at the convention and he will be attending the car show on the Saturday and again at the dinner & prize-giving ceremony on Sunday night. Allan will be available to sign posters, model cars and any other memorabilia that you may have. Allan is very approachable, so feel free to have a real good chat with him about any topics in general or anything around Mustangs. He will be giving a 20 minute speech on Sunday night about his motor racing exploits in particular his time in the COKE Mustang. Remember, he is here in New Zealand as our quest and just for your Convention. CAR SHOW JUDGING. The principle measures for
the car show judging will based around cleanliness and
condition. To maintain the correct balance in the judging process all clubs are being asked to provide a small number of judges. When your Club President asks for volunteers, please be prepared to help. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS AS WITHOUT THEM CONVENTION COSTS WOULD BE CONSIDERABLY HIGHER
