Programme
Friday Night – 20th
October 2006
Some
Manawatu cars will be loaded into the show venue on
Friday afternoon and trade stands can be set up at this
time. It may be possible to load cars from other clubs
between 4pm and 6pm.
Registration will be open from 7.30pm in
the Avenue Room – participants will be given a warm
Manawatu welcome and receive your goodies bag, which
will include all information required for the weekend,
and the very special gift from Southern Mustang and Ford
Spares.
You can also purchase your Convention
Polo’s and buy as many Raffle tickets as you’d like.
The Kingsgate Hotel is offering
Convention participants a special dinner deal in the
Restaurant or you can wander down the road to Burger
Fuel.
Saturday
– 21st October 2006
Each
Club will be assigned a time slot for entering the show
venue to avoid major congestion at the gate.
Show Venue – B & M Centre,
Pascal Street, Palmerston North
The show opens to the public from 10am
till 4pm.
There will be a VSL V8 Supercar Simulator
on-site (weather permitting).
Minivans will operate throughout the day
to places like Ezibuy, Town Square, Leisureplex,
Needlecraft, etc.
You can have the unparalleled thrill of a
Pitts Special joyride at the special discounted price of
$220, including shuttle to the airport – those without a
Convention name tag will pay $280.
Or you can hang out at the show as
there’s plenty of fantastic cars to view, great trade
stands and food.
The combined Mustang Owners’ Club’s
Presidents’ meeting will be in the show venue at 3pm.
Wherever you go you will need to be back
at the B & M Centre by 4pm to remove your car from the
venue.
The evening features optional activities.
The Kingsgate Hotel super meal deal is still on or you
can use your vouchers at Burger Fuel just down the road.
Two bars in the Kingsgate will have big screens for
those who want to watch the rugby and the V8 Supercar
simulator will be in the carpark (weather permitting)
for our exclusive use at no charge.
Robertson Holden International Speedway
will be on at Arena Manawatu and if there is enough
interest we can have our own section in the stands for
the evening.
Sunday – 22nd October 2006
The day’s activities will commence at 9am
from the Hotel car park. Gassing up first is
recommended to avoid having to stop and or get lost
trying to find a petrol station.
A Cruise-Quest has been organized for
your entertainment and enjoyment. The day will take you
up, down, around and over the Manawatu and end with a
tasty lunch and prizes, sponsored by Mustang Centre –
Quality Parts. Bring your PEN. You will receive an
information pack containing all that is required to
successfully navigate your way around the quiz - or
phone numbers to ring if completely lost.
Dinner & Dance, Prize Giving and
Auction at the Convention Centre
The
fancy dress theme for the night is M - the
options are endless so let your imagination go wild.
A bus (courtesy of the famous Madge) will run to the Convention Centre
so not to worry if your costume hinders your walking
ability. Weather permitting, you might like to take the
short stroll as the venue is just down the road from the Kingsgate.

A
farewell breakfast at the Convention Centre will
commence from 9.00am followed by farewell speeches and a
safe trip home.
