Convention show day,  2006 Palmerston North

Convention Programme

 Friday Night – 20th October 2006

Some Manawatu cars will be loaded into the show venue on Friday afternoon and trade stands can be set up at this time. It may be possible to load cars from other clubs between 4pm and 6pm.

Registration will be open from 7.30pm in the Avenue Room – participants will be given a warm Manawatu welcome and receive your goodies bag, which will include all information required for the weekend, and the very special gift from Southern Mustang and Ford Spares.

You can also purchase your Convention Polo’s and buy as many Raffle tickets as you’d like.

The Kingsgate Hotel is offering Convention participants a special dinner deal in the Restaurant or you can wander down the road to Burger Fuel.

 Saturday – 21st October 2006

Each Club will be assigned a time slot for entering the show venue to avoid major congestion at the gate.

Show Venue    –  B & M Centre,  Pascal Street, Palmerston North

The show opens to the public from 10am till 4pm.

There will be a VSL V8 Supercar Simulator on-site (weather permitting).

Minivans will operate throughout the day to places like Ezibuy, Town Square, Leisureplex, Needlecraft, etc.

You can have the unparalleled thrill of a Pitts Special joyride at the special discounted price of $220, including shuttle to the airport – those without a Convention name tag will pay $280.

Or you can hang out at the show as there’s plenty of fantastic cars to view, great trade stands and food.

The combined Mustang Owners’ Club’s Presidents’ meeting will be in the show venue at 3pm.

Wherever you go you will need to be back at the B & M Centre by 4pm to remove your car from the venue.

The evening features optional activities. The Kingsgate Hotel super meal deal is still on or you can use your vouchers at Burger Fuel just down the road. Two bars in the Kingsgate will have big screens for those who want to watch the rugby and the V8 Supercar simulator will be in the carpark (weather permitting) for our exclusive use at no charge.

Robertson Holden International Speedway will be on at Arena Manawatu and if there is enough interest we can have our own section in the stands for the evening.

Sunday – 22nd October 2006

The day’s activities will commence at 9am from the Hotel car park.  Gassing up first is recommended to avoid having to stop and or get lost trying to find a petrol station.

A Cruise-Quest has been organized for your entertainment and enjoyment.  The day will take you up, down, around and over the Manawatu and end with a tasty lunch and prizes, sponsored by Mustang Centre – Quality Parts.  Bring your PEN. You will receive an information pack containing all that is required to successfully navigate your way around the quiz - or phone numbers to ring if completely lost.

Dinner & Dance, Prize Giving and Auction at the Convention Centre

The fancy dress theme for the night is M - the options are endless so let your imagination go wild.

A bus (courtesy of the famous Madge) will run to the Convention Centre so not to worry if your costume hinders your walking ability.  Weather permitting, you might like to take the short stroll as the venue is just down the road from the Kingsgate.

Venue:  The Convention Centre           Start Time: 6.30pm

 Monday 23rd October 2006

A farewell breakfast at the Convention Centre will commence from 9.00am followed by farewell speeches and a safe trip home.
